Am I employed by SHFTHero? Is SHFTHero an employment agency?

SHFTHero is not your employer or an employment agency. Instead, we're a digital platform that allows you to connect with potential employers in your local area. The power is in your hands!

Do I have to pay any fees or commission to SHFTHero?

No! We don't charge you any fees or commissions

How do you join SHFTHero?

Just download our app, create your profile and get swiping. It's that easy!

Is SHFTHero available in my city/ country?

We are currently operating in Sydney, but plan to grow interstate soon!

Do I need any particular skill or experience?

If you're over 18 years old and have the right to work in Australia then you can join our platform. But, you'll have a better chance of being matched with an employer if you have relevant experience. The beauty of our platform however, is that we have a wide range of roles, catering to all levels of hospitality and events experience. So, get swiping!

What if I want to work near where I am currently and not near my home address?

That's the beauty of our platform, we're committed to the principle of flexibility! You have the option to search for shifts based on your current location, or a fixed location.

What type of jobs can I expect on SHFTHero?

At the moment, we are focused on the hospitality and events sector. The types of jobs that you can expect are: Barista, Bartender, Waitstaff, Event Staff, Dishhand, Bar Back, Door Staff, Promotional Staff. However, watch this space. We will be expanding into other sectors in the near future.

Do I receive benefits such leave entitlement, meal allowance etc?

You will have to discuss this with the employer, as this is subject to the individual arrangement that you have with them and any relevant Award. We encourage you to use our in-app video chat or text feature for any communication with your employer!

Do I receive Superannuation?

Am I covered by an award rate?

Here at SHFTHero we want what's best for you. We have built minimum rates and hours into the platform and we require employers to comply with the Fair Work Act and relevant Awards.

What do I do if the employer pays me less than the agreed rate?

We take these matters very seriously. Please contact us at help@shfthero.com, or the Fair Work Ombudsman at https://www.fairwork.gov.au

Can I cancel a shift before it starts?

Yes, but this may impact your rating. If you know you cannot commit to the agreed shift, please give the employer at least 24 hours notice if you intend to cancel.

Once a shift has started, can it be cancelled?

No! However, if you do not show up, and the shift has already started, then yes, the employer can cancel the shift. (Please don't no-show though, that wouldn't be cool).

Can a shift be terminated by the employer prior to commencement of the shift?

Yes, a shift can be cancelled before it starts. 'Shft happens'. BUT don't worry, there are plenty of other shifts available on the platform.
